Alison Wonderland Book Review

25 Dec

Alison Wonderland is a crazy tale by Helen Smith that I read recently. The book is about a young woman who is recently divorced. She needs to find a way to support herself, so she turns to the private investigator that provided her with information about her ex-husbands cheating.

Alison soon settles into her new life of going on stake outs, and working at temp jobs to find out information about men who might be cheating with their secretaries. And then in walks a client who is looking for something a little bit different than information about a cheating husband. She is looking for a newborn baby. More specifically she is looking for a foundling.

The book moves along quickly, and it is full of interesting characters. Some are a little eccentric, and some are like the people you meet in your everyday life. But all of them are put together in a story that is delightfully confusing at times. But in the end it all makes sense.

In some ways the book is far-fetched, but in so many other ways it is like real life. Like real life we are often drawn into events that we didn’t see coming. And we end up losing and gaining so many things that we want.
If you are looking for a book that will keep you entertained, you will definitely enjoy this book.
